The ICT department runs a range of courses. At Key Stage 3 this is our own National Curriculum based course. At Key Stage 4 these include skills-based courses such as OCR Nationals in ICT, and OCR Clait awards. On the website, we will be providing resources for students to continue their work from home.
Year 7
In Year 7 our students start with an introduction to our state-of-the-art computer network. Following this, the course covers:
- basic computer control
- finding information
- website design
Year 8
In Year 8 our course aims to develop students' skills in using programs and their capability to use their new skills to solve problems. The course develops skills in:
- Presenting ideas with PowerPoint
- Handling data with Databases
- Analysing data with Spreadsheets
Year 9
In Year 9 our students look at the way that ICT tools are used in business. The course covers:
- Creating business documents
- Using business databases
- Designing business graphics
Years 10 and 11
Students who opt to study ICT follow a course which leads to an OCR Nationals Award.
