French

At SQES we feel that learning a second language is not simply about learning new words but an opportunity to discover different cultures and ideas. Language learning opens doors. We aim to bring Languages to life in the classroom through the use of inter-active and multi-media technology.

French is our MFL specialism at SQES and is taught in KS3 and GCSE French is an option for KS4. In KS3 we study a wide range of topics and grammar as well as the essential skills of:

  • Listening
  • Speaking
  • Reading
  • Writing

Our students develop skills that they can use across the curriculum, for example, memory skills to learn vocabulary can also be used in learning mathematical equations.
