Welcome to the Drama Department

All students in KS3 study Drama for one hour a week. Throughout KS3, Drama is divided into three main sections:

  • Dramatic skills
  • Styles of Theatre
  • Script work

Students create their own drama based on a range of stimuli and work towards final, polished performances.

Students can opt for OCR GCSE Drama at KS4, which is extremely popular and highly successful. Our results are excellent, last year almost 85% of students achieved an A* - C grade at GCSE. Many of our students go on to study Drama or Performance Studies at further and higher education.

Every year the Y11 students put on a show as part of their GCSE studies. The last performance was “Bouncers and Shakers” by John Godber and Jane Thornton. It was a great success. The cast and crew worked extremely hard to produce such a professional show. The Headteacher said of the performance “I have not enjoyed a performance so much for a long time. The students were excellent and the audience very appreciative of the humour of the piece”.
