ART
The art curriculum is structured to allow students to make the most of their individual skills and interests in this subject. All coursework projects are based around a broad theme that will allow students to develop an independent study in an area that is of personal interest to them. This may be centred on hobbies and interests outside school and themes such as fashion, cars and music are commonly explored.
Students will use a range of materials and techniques to develop their project ideas. This will incorporate 2D and 3D skills and allow students to study the work of contemporary artists, designers and crafts people. It is not uncommon for each student within a class to be using a different material and technique in their work and to select these according to what is appropriate for their personal idea development.
PHOTOGRAPHY
The photography curriculum is initially based on developing a sound body of skills in digital technology. This will include the use of cameras, the aesthetics of taking photographs and editing through the medium of Paint Shop Pro.
From here, the work of contemporary photographers will be studied and provide inspiration for exploring a range of techniques and ideas. All coursework projects are based around a broad theme that will allow students to develop an independent study in an area that is of personal interest to them.
