Each student is provided with a high quality diary and planner.  This contains important information about learning, uniform, PE kit, events and routines.  It encourages students to plan their work and allows us to record details about a student's school life.  Parents are asked to read and sign the information pages, to look at the planner regularly and to encourage their child to record all their achievements.

All students are set homework on a regular basis and this is monitored by the school's senior leadership team.  A homework timetable is published annually.  Each student is encouraged to develop a greater depth of knowledge by working independently, often on the completion of tasks started in the classroom.

For older students, homework assignments have an increasing importance because of continuous assessment which is linked to final examination grades.

A homework club is available during and after school.  For students who wish to study outside normal school hours, the library provides them with quiet surroundings and access to reference books and computer facilities including the Internet.
