Year 9 student Billy Mugnier took part in his first ever competitive cross country race back in November at Caythorpe PGL in Grantham. He finished 9th out of approx 80 runners. He then went through to the county championships in Lincoln and finished 8th in the county overall.
Billy now trains at Nene Valley Harriers in Peterborough and after some extra weeks of training he managed to come 6th in the county in the Anglian championships in February with an outstanding time of 14.41.
Following his excellent form, Billy was picked to represent Lincolnshire at the Nationals at Wollaton Park, Nottingham in March, Billy yet again performed superbly and finished 4th in Lincolnshire.
A truly tremendous achievement for someone who only had his first ever competitive race in November.
