Queen Eleanor Students Win Fashion Awards
Queen Eleanor students were celebrating last week after scooping two awards at the Lincolnshire Fashion Academy Awards. The catwalk show and awards were held on Friday 8 July at the Epic Centre, Lincolnshire Showground.
8 students from Years 8-11 have spent the year working with professional designers to create their outfits on the theme of 18th Century French fashion.
The students’ efforts were recognised with two awards. The first, a group prize for Best Newcomer, came with a prize of a new top of the range Janome sewing machine. The second award was for Y9 student Shannon Cartmell, who achieved third prize in the Young Designer Award, which was judged by renowned designer Wayne Hemmingway.
This success will spur the school on and they have already committed to enter the Awards again next year.
