Year 11 students at Stamford Queen Eleanor School marked the end of their school career with a dazzling prom event complete with ball gowns, stretched limousines and a red carpet entrance.
Large crowds of friends, family and onlookers welcomed the students as they arrived in their limousines, sports and classic cars and carriages. The students entered the school along the traditional red carpet and danced the night away in the stunningly decorated school hall.
The annual end of year event is organised by the students themselves with the support of the staff and gets bigger and grander each year.
Headteacher Wendy Hamilton remarked that ‘the prom had been a huge success and a fitting finale for the students who had worked so hard throughout their time at the school.’ He had also been ‘delighted at how much interest the event had generated in the community’ and that ‘its success was a tribute to the enthusiasm, imagination and hard work of the students organising the prom and the staff in supporting it.’
