Loren Croudace Performs Her First Song

Hunaida Bhabha Accompanied by Mr Brister
Year 9 Stamford Queen Eleanor School student Charlie Tooke beat off intense competition to secure this year’s coveted Q Factor crown.
This year’s final, once again sponsored by Cummins, had sold out within hours of tickets going on sale and a noisy and enthusiastic crowd of over 250 parents and students crammed into the school hall to hear the finalists perform in the school’s version of ITV’s ‘X Factor’.
This was the forth year that the school had run the contest and competition was hotter than ever with over 200 students entering. The choice of the three performers for the live final fell to three teacher mentors who had the unenviable task of filling the roles of Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Cheryl Cole on the judging panel.
At the live final itself, the audience voted for who they thought had performed best on the night. After two fantastic performances from each finalist, the audience chose Year 9 student, Charlie Tooke as the winner in a very closely fought contest. He particularly wowed the audience with his vocal performance and dance routine to Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean.
Year 7 student Loren Croudance was runner up with year 8 student Hunaida Bhabha very close behind in third place.
Music teacher, Cris Freeman, who organised the competition, remarked that ‘each year the standard has got higher and higher’ and that ‘the quality of the singing in the final was a testament to the finalists’ hard work, commitment and undoubted talent’.
